Animal Reiki

"Animal reiki is meditating with your animals for peace and healing." ~ Kathleen Prasad

I’ve studied animal reiki Levels 1 & 2  with Reiki Master Teacher, Pam Allen-LeBlanc of Hidden Brook Farm, www.hiddenbrook.ca, and have taken Kathleen Prasad’s Animal Reiki Core Curriculum, Kathleen is the creator of the “Let Animals Lead” Method.

 www.animalreikisource.com.

I’ve found that both programs compliment the other beautifully.

I resonate very strongly with practices from each organizations.

Here are the Six Pillars of the "Let Animals Lead” method created by Kathleen Prasad:

1. Based on Japanese Reiki techniques

2. Uses touch only when animal-initiated

3. Focuses on the animal’s perfection in the present moment

4. Teaches meditation as the way of compassion

5. Develops mindfulness with animals for peace and healing

6. Honors animals as healers and teachers

“ The animals are our teachers. They want us to know that we are together on this journey. We are part of the animal kingdom, living together on earth. The animals teach us to love our human spirit and human nature. They say, “ If we could teach human beings one thing, it would be to love yourselves as much as we love you, because when you love yourselves, you create your life from that belief.” ~ Robyn Benelli, Sioux Strong, Colleen Benelli, Pam Allen-LeBlanc, reikilifestyle.comwww.hiddenbrook.ca

Animals love reiki as much as humans do, they understand it easily and are much more aware of energy and in tune with their physical bodies. Because they are sentient beings and open to energy, they need to be approached with the sensitivity, respect and consideration for what they want. The animals always lead the session.

The main difference between animal reiki and human reiki are the techniques. As a practitioner when I work with people I can ask them questions and often when in person, my eyes are closed as I work through the hand positions during treatment. With an animal there is potential to work in different environments depending on the type of animal. My eyes remain open in a soft meditative gaze to observe the animals behavior and reaction and to be conscious of safety. Sessions are often hands off unless the animal chooses hands on. The animal must be the one to decide what is most comfortable for them. Hands on does not mean more powerful. Sessions can be done both in person or at a distance providing many options for the animal to receive if they choose to.

Reiki can effectively address any problem an animal may face: physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. It is a gentle, noninvasive, yet very powerful and compliments other forms of healing both allopathic and holistic. Reiki can do no harm and will not give more to the animal than he or she is open to receive. ~ Kathleen Prasad

Healing benefits include:

* stress reduction

* support in recovering from an injury or surgery

* reduces inflammation

* helps with the side effects from illness and other issues such as

 cancer, skin problems or broken bones

* assists with providing comfort in aging, illness or injuries

* may assist with behavioral problems

* can offer support for separation anxiety

* healing from issues from abuse or mistreatment

* supports vet care

* helps with animal compassion fatigue as they work on us too and can take on our issues

* increased peace and vitality

* renewed sense of purpose

* provides support during compassionate euthanasia

* provides end -of- life support

Reiki complements traditional medicine and training and is not meant as a substitute for necessary traditional medical care.

As with humans, we must have the animal’s consent and their caregiver’s consent to offer a reiki treatment. This can be done while in a meditative state where I can observe the animals behavior and / or receive  a yes or no through reiki, my senses, intuition and instincts both in person or in a distance session. Most sessions are usually distance sessions as they provide more flexibility for the animal, caregiver, and practitioner.

Caregivers may be present and / or take part in the reiki session, and the animal is free to move around during the treatment as they prefer this. Sessions are typically shorter as animals process more quickly, usually between 30 - 60 minutes.

As we continue to navigate the Corona Virus, I require that all in person clients be fully vaccinated.

Treatments for you and your animal can be very effective. I can offer a shared reiki healing meditation where both of you can take part.

Animal Reiki energy benefits all types of animals. Examples include but are not limited to: pets, domestic and farm animals, shelter animals, service animals, sporting animals, herds, wild animals, insects, reptiles, water animals and birds.

Reiki for horse and rider

“ Horses and other herd animals teach us that we share energy between our own individual consciousness and the larger context of the cosmos. That ebb and flow is an energetic conversation teaching us something about ourselves.” ~ Allen J. Hamilton, MD, from ‘Lead with your Heart, Lessons from a Life with Horses”

This is a special area of focus for me due to my great love for horses and the role that they've played and continue to play in my personal transformation. The human horse connection is a sacred relationship.

Horses are healers and powerful spiritual beings. They joyfully give so much of themselves to us in partnership and service. As empathic creatures they absorb and process sensitive levels of energy both from their environment and from us. As with humans, horses live very full lives. Energy blocks can be created from taking on too much and not having ample outlets for relaxation that supports healing, feeling balanced and at peace. We all know how important it is to refill our energetic and spiritual buckets so we can function at our best.

“ The horse is expert at reading the visceral and intuitive energy we give off subconsciously in our body posture, head position, and hand gestures. He will always try to read our energetic intention, but the message can get garbled when mixed with emotion“  ~ Allen J. Hamilton, MD

Our goal is to transmit energy in as pure a form as possible so we can be effective and supportive riders for our horses. Reiki helps clear and calm our emotions so we are not operating from a reactive state, but instead from a space that is grounded and focused where our positive intentions and guidance can be felt.

Reiki treatments benefit the horse and rider energetically by increasing the flow of life force energy creating the deep levels of relaxation that supports ease, softness and alignment in both the horse and rider’s body. Reiki reduces the physical, emotional, and energetic impacts of stress, as it restores emotional balance, self-esteem, and mental clarity, and it brings you into your heart where you experience increased creativity, heightened intuition, and a deeper ability to connect with, feel into, and respond to your horse.

Reiki treatments for both horse and rider can be effective in many areas and can be individually received or I can offer a shared healing meditation where both you and your horse take part.

* regularly scheduled sessions support long term healing benefits, relaxation and balance

* I can offer a series of healing reiki meditations that clear blocks and empower your goals. Reiki works with you to support your positive intentions

* reiki for your barn, pasture, arena etc. Spaces can be cleared of old energy and reiki can be invited in to create a continuous flow of support and high vibrations.

* compliments and supports other therapies such as equine massage and acupuncture

* energetic support prior to and during show events

* energetic support before and after training sessions

* compliments veterinarian care before, during and after treatment

* Reiki can imbue blankets and tack providing a continues flow of reiki energy & support as you ride.

* Reiki offers deep healing and comfort for you and your horse when it is their time to transition and aids them in their crossing over process

* reiki can charge medications, supplements and feed, making them more effective and attuned to your horse.

In person and

long distance

treatments

Sessions can be conducted in person or from a distance. As we continue to navigate the Corona Virus, I require that all in person clients be fully vaccinated.

Recipients can notice improvements in just one session, However the effects of healing energy are cumulative. Most issues are best served by a series of treatments that create a foundation for long term results.

My teacher, Pam Allen- LeBlanc recommends 3-4 treatments as close together as possible for more serious conditions. She has experienced incredible and sometimes miraculous results for her clients using this protocol. Treatments are scheduled for 60 minutes to provide flexibility. The time spent in an animal reiki session is less predictable than with people. Time cannot be controlled with animals, and their sessions can vary according to the animal.

Prior to your first session I’ll ask that you complete and return your Animal Client Information Form. Please print out and fill out, scan or take a picture of your completed form and email it to me at reikispirit@amybutlerdesign.com

Treatment cost

My current cost for a distance animal reiki treatment is $65. In person treatments are $80 assuming my travel to your home, barn or event.

Payments can be made via Cash Ap, Venmo or through a PayPal invoice. Cash and local checks are also accepted.

Schedule a session

I am booking sessions now on designated days.

My “in person” sessions will follow safe distance practices during the transitional phases with the Corona virus.
